The Executive Secretary of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr. Barclays Ayakoroma, visited the South-East Zonal office headquarters at 9A Works Road, off Okigwe Road, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria to meet with members of staff on Thursday, March 29, 2011.


Dr. Ayakoroma who was in Owerri for the 35th meeting of Chief Executives of Culture of the Federation (CEC) said, meeting his staff in the zone before proceeding to the CEC meeting was necessary because they are the members of his constituency.


The Executive Secretary encouraged members of staff to raise questions on issues that they needed clarification, especially such that border on staff welfare and the development of NICO. Several issues comprising staff training, promotion, dress code, pension scheme among others were addressed in the meeting.


In his parting words, the NICO boss enjoined members of staff to be disciplined and always co-operate with management to take NICO to the desired height.


In her vote of thanks, the zonal co-ordinator, Mrs Chioma Duru, on behalf of members of staff thanked the Executive Secretary for his kind gestures towards the zone and for also taking time to exhaustively address some issues that have been agitating the minds of her staff.
