Talthe Executive Secretary of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, has urged the media desk of NICO Training School, to factor into the platform provided by various national dailies, in their Education pages, to publicize the programmes and activities of the Training School.

Giving this advice during the Technical Session of the Institute’s 2-day Management Retreat, with the theme: “Mainstreaming Culture in the Transformation Agenda: The NICO Perspective,” Dr. Ayakoroma explained that activities such as students’ orientation, matriculation, practical productions, field school, examinations, quality of lecturers, and the benefits of the Institute to the Nigerian public, could be made known to Nigerians more effectively and with ease.

In a similar vein, the ES opined that there was need to have news from the zones captured in NICO News, the trail-blazing in-house newsletter of the Institute, for proper reportage of all the activities happening in the zones.alt

In his response, the Deputy Director/SA to ES, Mr. Nelson Ebi Campbell, who also oversees the Corporate Affairs Unit of the Institute, said that order to actualize the above, an in-house training for media officers, in the headquarters and the zones, would soon be organised to acquaint them of their expectations and enhance their job performance.
