The executive secretary, National Institute for National Orientation, Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, has expressed satisfaction with the extensive renovation work carried out recently in the library of NICO Training School, Lagos, despite paucity of funds.

Ayakoroma gave this commendation, Friday, 25 October, 2013, when the director, training school, Mrs. Brigitte Yerima, accompanied by other key officers of the training school, took him on an inspection tour of the school’s library facility.

Before now, most chairs, book shelves and the library’s cooling systems were in a state of disrepair; even the lecture halls were in similar situation until the school, under the new leadership of Mrs. Yerima, embarked on measures to give the lecture halls, library, and indeed the whole school, a face lift.

It would be recalled that Mrs. Yerima, in her inaugural meeting with the staff, reiterated her commitment to relentlessly carry out the goals of NICO, as spelt out by NICO’s leadership; and part of that commitment, she stated, was to create the enabling environment for teaching and learning.

Other management staff that accompanied the ES on the inspection included Mr. Louis Eriomala (director and head, Lagos liaison office); Mr. Ibrahim Husseini (head, NICO North-West zonal office, Alhaji Muhammed Bashir (head of administration of the Training School), and Mr. Law Ezeh (students affairs officer).
