The Chairman, Amalgamated Union of Corporations, Civil Service, Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE), National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) chapter, Comrade Onyekachi Promise Nwanguma says the newly inaugurated Governing Board of the Institute will add value to the quality leadership already being exhibited by the Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma-led management.

Comrade Nwanguma, who stated this in a chat with Nico News after the visit of the Governing Board Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Isma’il, stated that from what he observed of the chairman and his pedigree, he was a man of integrity, with vast experience, poised to leave an indelible mark wherever he found himself.

Assuring that the Union will give maximum cooperation to the Board, just as they have been giving to the Management, the NICO AUPCTRE chair said the appointment of Alhaji Isma’il was an answer to the prayers of the Union and the entire staffers.

Expressing his pleasure over the appointment of the Chairman by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and the inauguration of the Board by the Honourable Minister, Chief Edem Duke, the NICO AUPCTRE chairman said: “We are grateful to President Goodluck Jonathan for setting up NICO Governing Board and appointing a man with sound experience as the Chairman. We are very happy in NICO over this. We have no doubt that the Board will bring blessings and glory to NICO. The Chairman is a man of integrity. He has good record in his pedigree. I am quite sure that he will carry out the assignment with other members of the Board as required by Mr. President in line with Transformation Agenda. This transformation will also add to the transformation and innovation Dr. Ayakoroma has been bringing with the management to the Institute.”

Comrade Nwanguma continued: “It is on this note that I look at his visit as epoch-making. He created the impression of a complete gentleman to me. It is first impression that matters a lot. I am convinced that he will make impact in NICO. The ES has made a lot impacts. The Board will surely add to his excellence.”

The NICO Governing Board Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Isma’il had visited the Institute’s Headquarters in No 23 Kigoma Street, Zone 7, Abuja, on Thursday, 21st November, 2013, and commended the high level of synergy he said he noted between the management and staffers of NICO, saying he was impressed because everybody was working hard towards the success of the Institute’s mandate; and that it showed the seriousness of a people who want to make impact.
