As the Count Down To SONTA 2015, the Annual International Conference of the Society of Nigeria Theatre Artists (SONTA) records about 2months and 18days on the conference site (www.sonta.nico.gov.ng), the Local Organising Committee of the Conference has broken new grounds by uploading all accepted abstracts on the site.
According to the Convener of the conference, Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, who is NICO’s Executive Secretary and Visiting Associate Professor to Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), one hundred and four (104) abstracts have been accepted for the conference.
He also disclosed that about eleven abstracts from some persons were not accepted because such persons submitted two or three abstracts, adding that there will be no room for participants to present more than one paper at the conference, and that doing that will make the plenary sessions appear like bazaars and sacrifice qualify for quantity.
It will be recalled that the acceptance letters for the abstracts reminded presenters that the full papers, which should adhere strictly the 6th edition of the MLA Documentation Style Sheet, should be emailed on or before 30 June, 2015 to dr.barclays2012@gmail.com; and copy: info@nico.gov.ng, sonta2015@gmail.com, and sontaeditor@gmail.com, for inclusion in the Book of Proceedings, which will be printed before the conference.
SONTA 2015, being hosted by National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), with Barr. Abayomi Oyelola, mni, NICO’s Director of Admin & HR, as LOC Chairman, comes up 4-5 August at the Shehu Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja-FCT, and those interested in attending the conference are advised to visit the website: www.sonta.nico.gov.ng to get updates on the conference.
