Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has urged government agencies within the premises of National Theatre, Iganmu-Lagos to maintain peaceful and positive relationship with one another.

The Honourable Minister made his observation on Thursday, 28th January, 2016 during a meeting held inside the Boardroom of the National Theatre with the aim of enhancingpeaceful co-existence of Agencies in the Information and Culture sector within the theatre complex.

“It is imperative for Parastatals around this national monument to meet regularly in order to resolve matters of collective security, environment and other issues of mutual concern,” he said.

Lai Mohammed enjoined the agencies, namely, Advertising Practitioners’ Council of Nigeria, National Gallery of Art (NGA), National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), National Troupe of Nigeria (NTN) and the National Theatre, to work closely to commonly project Nigeria’s image positively.

He further called on the Parastatals to be more accommodating and open in this era of total disclosure and inclusiveness, saying that the National Theatre Management has a duty to inform government agencies within the complex about the amended Master Plan of the National Theatre surroundings and how it affects them, in order to assuage anxieties, provide a sense of belonging, and elicit their necessary cooperation on the development project.
