The 2016 edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) took place on Saturday, 11th June, at the ultra-modern Obi Wali International Conference Centre, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, with veteran actors, Olu Jacobs, his wife, Joke Silva, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), and Tony Akposheri (Zakky of New Masquerade), receiving the AMAA Award for Lifetime Achievement.

The list of winners of the 12th edition of AMAA, what could be rightly termed Africas Oscars, is as follows:
