Beginning from 9th-10th December, 2016, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), will be hosting the 3rd National Roundtable on Nigerian Universities Theatre Arts Festival (NUTAF), which was an annual theatre fiesta organised by Nigerian Universities Theatre Arts Students Association (NUTASA) that has been rested for many years now.

An e-mail forwarded to the Executive Secretary, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Assoc. Prof. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma by Professor Emmanuel S. Dandaura, inviting him to the roundtable, disclosed that the programme, which is expected to be hosted by the Department of Theatre & Film Studies, UNN, will have Presidents and Secretaries of Theatre Students Associations in the Departments of Theatre/Dramatic/Performing Arts and Film/Cultural Studies in Nigerian Universities in attendance.

Also expected to attend are Heads and Staff Advisers of Departments of Theatre/Dramatic/Performing Arts and Film/Cultural Studies in Nigerian Universities; ex-NUTASITES, who had held key NUTASA positions in the past; Presidents/Official Representatives of Society of Nigeria Theatre Artists (SONTA); National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP); and International Theatre Institute (ITI)-Nigeria, as well as interested private sector investors.

According to the email, the agenda for the roundtable will include, Consideration of a Draft Syllabus for NUTAF 2017, Consideration of Applications for Hosting of NUTAF 2017-2020, Report on NUTASA/NUTAF Book Project, and Inauguration of Interim NUTASA Executive Committee.

It will be recalled that the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), got the hosting right for the 3rd National Roundtable on Nigerian Universities Theatre Arts Festival during the 2nd National Roundtable, which was recently held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, during SONTA 2016.
