The National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) is set to conduct examination for staffers eligible for promotion in 2017 to the next cadre in line with extant civil service guidelines.

The exercise, which is scheduled for Saturday, 29th July, 2017, with a total number of two hundred and eight (208) candidates participating, is expected to hold simultaneously in seven (7) centres across the country.

Information obtained from the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Alhaji Ibrahim Husseini, indicates that while the examination exercise for staffers in Abuja, Head office holds at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Education Resource Centre (ERC), Wuse Zone 7, staffers from the South-West zonal office will write the exams in Akure, Ondo State; South-East (Owerri); South-South (Yenagoa); North-West (Katsina); North-Central (Ilorin), and Lagos Liaison Office and Training School (Lagos).

From the above-mentioned locations, Abuja has eighty eight (88) candidates; South-West Zonal Office has eleven (11); South-East has twenty three (23) while the South-South Zonal Office has seventeen (18) candidates; North-West Zone has eight (8) candidates; Lagos Liaison Office has fifty (50); while the North-Central Zonal office has ten (10) candidates only.

It will be recalled that last year, NICO introduced simultaneous conduct of promotion examinations for staffers in all the Zonal and State offices as well as the Abuja Head office of the Institute instead of converging staffers from all over the locations to Abuja for the exercise.

The promotion examination exercise, as has been with other editions and in line with the approved establishment vacancies for the Institute for 2017, is expected to be conducted strictly on the basis of competitive merit from amongst all eligible candidates.
