The Acting Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Mr. Louis Eriomala has commended the Federal House of Representatives Member, representing Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency, Honourable Oghene Emma Egoh, for giving his constituents a feel of the dividend of democracy.

Eriomala who gave this commendation while making a remark at a One-Day Cultural Awakening and Sensitisation which took place on Thursday, February 1, 2018 in FESTAC area of Lagos State stated that he was impressed with the cordial working relationship between Honourable Oghene Egoh, and hoped the event will be an annual event.

In his brief remark at the event, the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Culture and Tourism, Honourable Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, acknowledged God for making everything it possible for the sensitization to hold as well as commend Hon. Oghene Egoh for the constituency projects he has been carrying out for the benefits of his constituents, saying he is able to do these because is very vibrant in the house.

While expressing deep appreciation to NICO for its continued partnership in the execution of constituency projects in the country, Honourable Omoregie pledged that the House of Representatives Committee on Culture and Tourism will do its best to increase budgetary allocation for the event in the 2018 budget, saying the programme will be an annual event henceforth.

Responding, Honourable Oghene Egoh who gave a historical background of his sojourn in politics expressed special gratitude to the Awori people and the constituency for the opportunity they have given him to represent them where he has been able to empower the youth; assist the widows; contribute to security in the area; provide free education and uniforms for children; free school bus rides; free WAEC and NECO lessons as well as giving out medicated glasses to members of the constituency who had undergone tests.

The event had cultural displays from Sompetan cultural group from Iyagbe; Otu Ugo cultural troupe from Ogor in Delta State; Ogene cultural group from Ohaneze Ndigbo and Akaka group from Igbeje.
