The National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) has successfully conducted its 2019 promotion examination for staff due for promotion to the next cadre in line with extant laws.

This is coming few months after the result of the 2018 promotion examination was released, a development that is said to be a proof of Management’s priority to staff promotion and general welfare.

The exercise which took place on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at eleven (11) examination centres across the federation had Two Hundred and Ninety Four (294) staff who participated.

At the commencement of the exercise at the Abuja examination centre (Education Resource Centre, Abuja), NICO’s Director of Administration and Human Resource, Alhaji Ibrahim Hussaini in a brief remark, called on staff to maintain peace and conduct themselves orderly, stressing that Management on its part, has put in place, measures by adopting a process that will enable a hitch-free exercise.

On his part, the external examiner, Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) called on members of staff to maintain decorum during the conduct of the exercise.

Represented by Mr. Uzoma Onyegbadue, Dandaura urged staff to remain calm and have a positive mind as the exercise is only to test their knowledge and understanding of their work place and the Public Service Rules (PSR) in general.
 
The examination centres across the federation were Abuja with 110 candidates; Lagos had 32; Bayelsa had 28; Ilorin had 17; Akure had 18; Owerri had 28; Kastina had 12; Enugu had 20; Ibadan had 11; Gombe had 4 and Minna with 10 candidates.
