“Attainment Of Ekpuke Etoship, Essahship, Onikaraship, Horiiship And Rikweri Of Ehugbo Are All Unquantifiable Blessings From God” – Fr. Azubuike

The Parish Priest, St. Mary’s Pro Cathedral Catholic Church, Afikpo, Ebonyi State, Rev. Fr. Greg Azubuike has said that the attainment of Ekpuke Eto, Essah, Oniikara, Horii and Rikweri Ehugbo, are all unquantifiable blessings from God.

He said this during the pre-induction Holy Mass held for all new initiates of the different grades of the Ehugbo Traditional Council of Elders, held on Saturday, 30th April, 2016, in his parish.

During his homily, Fr. Azubuike stated that he is convinced of this fact, as it is only God who owns and gives life.

He continued that to attain the age of 40 and above for Ekpuke Eto, 60 and above for Essah, 80 and above for Onikara, 100 and above for the Horri’s, it is not by any one’s hard work, feat in his trade or endeavour; rather, it is a gift from God to his people out of his invaluable love for mankind.

Fr. Greg, who also qualified as a member of Ekpuke Essah Ehugbo, while asking all to appreciate God, also called all to appreciate and preserve the age long cultural heritage of Nd’Ehugbo and used the opportunity to bless all the Horri’s.

After the Holy Mass, all the initiates matched to the Traditional Council of Elders at Eke Market Afikpo venue of the induction.
