The Zonal Pastor, Faith and Miracle Zone, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Karu, Abuja-FCT, Pastor Kehinde Olorunisola, has admonished the Christian Fellowship of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), NICO Prays, to always rejoice in the Lord for His saving grace upon mankind from our perishing state.
Stating this at the NICO Prays Mid-Year Thanksgiving Fellowship, which took place at the Institute's head office, at No. 23, Kigoma Street, Wuse Zone 7, Abuja-FCT, on Wednesday, 12th of July, 2017, Pastor Olorunisola, ministering on the topic: ''Rejoice in the Lord'', which was taken from the Book of Philippians chapter 4 vs 4, reiterated that thanksgiving was very important for every believer, because it was superior to happiness and as people of God, there was every need to be joyful.
Taking another scripture from the Book of Psalms chapter 20 vs 5, the pastor further pointed out the risks of being a Christian, which are high at these perilous times; and that every Christian should strive to stand firm and fast in the Lord.
Making reference to the Book of John chapter 16 vs 33, he further stressed the need for peace in the lives of Christians, which can only be given by Jesus Christ alone; and adding that, there are a lot of tribulations in the world but with Jesus Christ, there is peace.
On his part, the Executive Secretary, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Assoc. Prof. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, thanked the visiting pastor for coming to the fellowship and ministering the word to the glory of God.
In appreciation and thanksgiving to God, the NICO boss recounted the Lord's numerous blessings and how far He has seen him through as well as the Institute since his appointment in 2009 to date.
His words: “I want to thank God for his blessings because by 28th November, 2017, at midnight, I will be 8years in NICO; so, it is a thing of thanksgiving. I want to thank God for the success of NICO programmes this year. We were in Enugu for the traditional rulers' conference, Minna for dress culture, and Lagos for the Children programme, which I attended. For your information, these programmes we organized this year are programmes in the 2016 budget.... Our prayer is that as God did it in 2016, He will do it again in 2017”.
Prof. Ayakoroma seized the opportunity to intimate the fellowship members that the letter of affiliation of the Training School with the Nasarawa State University (NSUK) will be given to the Institute very soon, praying that God who had started the process will conclude it so that the NICO Training School will be better repositioned for improved and effective productivity.
The thanksgiving fellowship had in attendance former Director-General, Nigerian Copyright Commission, Mrs. Lauretta Njoku; Director, Orientation and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Alex Omijie; Head, Finance and Account, Pastor Alfred Ogbe Herbert; Asst.
