South East Zone of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) will play host to the Governing Board and Management of NICO in the next Board/Management Retreat holding in May 2011 at Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria.

The Retreat, which will be held at the instance of the Board Chairman, Ambassador Abubakar Ibrahim Ganyama, was announced by the Executive Secretary, Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, during a meeting with members of staff at NICO South-East Zonal Office Headquarters at 9A Works Road, Off Okigwe Road, Owerri, Imo State.

He said the Board Chairman was very happy with the outcome of the Kaduna Retreat, and had approved the holding of the next edition, the 2011 edition, in Owerri.

Responding, the South-East Zonal Head, Mrs. Chioma Duru, thanked the Executive Secretary for the meeting, adding that it was at the last Retreat in Kaduna that she really got acquainted with the Vision and Mission Statements of NICO, an experience, she said, most of the members of her staff have also benefited from.

Mrs. Duru, who was obviously elated at the news, assured the Executive Secretary on behalf of her staff that they will be fully prepared to receive the august visitors in May when the Board/Management Retreat opens.

The NICO Boss was at Owerri for the 35th Meeting of the Chief Executives of Culture of the Federation (CEC) and made out time to meet with members of staff in the zone, who he described as his constituency.
