The Executive Secretary of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, has been described as one man who is determined to achieve all round national development in Nigeria.
The former chairman of the House Committee on Culture and Tourism, Rt. Hon. KGB Oguakwa, who stated this in a letter of commendation and farewell, disclosed that his contributions and achievements in the House of Representatives would not have been possible but for the warm relationship he enjoyed with Dr. Ayakoroma and the Institute.
In the letter titled, “Commendation for your Continued Service to the Nation,” and “Farewell as we Round off the Sixth Session of the House of Representatives,” Hon. Oguakwa also revealed that he had acquired knowledge from the relationship which shaped his life.
Stating that he would return to his legal practice with this experience and knowledge, the former ranking parliamentarian said he looked forward for future relationships with NICO.
The letter, which prayed that God Almighty should protect the ES, his family and NICO, reads in part: “When I joined the Parliament from the Nigerian Bar in 2003, I was exposed to new insights into the problems besetting my country, and in my journey in my two-term service, my capacity in various sectors was developed through my various engagements with patriots such as yourself.
“My contributions could never have become possible without the opportunities which interacting with your MDA exposed me to, nor could whatever achievements recorded have become possible without the synergistic relationship we built based on mutually identified policy targets and your kindness in carrying me along on the learning curve of my national service.
“As I return with nostalgia and satisfaction to my practice as a legal practitioner, I look forward to our constant engagement, through the knowledge I acquired in my journey through the highest levels of sector which have shaped my life in these years of service at the House of Representatives of the Federal Republic.”
Rt. Hon. Oguakwa was the member representing Aninri/Awgu/Oji-River Federal Constituency of Enugu State in the lower house from 2003-2011.
