The 8th meeting of the National Council on Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, holds from Wednesday, August 22 to Friday, August 24, 2012, at the Royal Shekinah Hotel, Ilorin, Kwara State, “the state of harmony.”
The Council meeting, which is a gathering of Permanent Secretaries and Directors from Culture and Tourism Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), from all the 36 states and the FCT, as well as the federal ministry and its parastatals, will be preceded by a 2-Day Technical Session, which will be chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Mrs. Ibikun Odusote.
The main Council meeting, which will be attended by all Commissioners of Culture and Tourism, on Friday, August 2012, will be chaired by the Honourable Minister, Chief Edem Duke, and it will be declared open by the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed.
Nico news gathered that the Executive Secretary, Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, will be attending the Council meeting, to give a report on the activities of the Institute in the last one year and present relevant Memos.
Admission to NICO Training School, the 5th National Workshop on Repositioning Cultural Workers for Improved Productivity, and the Nigerian Indigenous Language Programme (NILP), are top on the list of memos likely to be presented by the ÉS.
In company with ÉS are the Director, Training School, Prince Bamidele Olusa, SA to ÉS, Mr. Nelson Campbell, and the Deputy Director, Protocol, Mr. Alex Omijie.
