The Director, Finance and Accounts, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Mr. Godson Ordu, has lauded NICO Minna’s programmes, especially the ongoing Weekend Nigerian Indigenous Language Programme.
Ordu gave the commendation when he paid an unscheduled visit to NICO Minna State Office, Saturday, 18th January, 2014, for on-the-spot assessment of the programme and familiarization visit, at the instance of the Executive Secretary, Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma.
The Director was received on arrival by the State Coordinator, Mrs. Funke Ndukwe, who took him round the entire UK Bello Complex, the venue of the ongoing Weekend Indigenous Language Programme, where he expressed satisfaction with the impressive number of participants for Yoruba Language that was in session, saying that the staffers had done well and urged them to continue with the good work.
On the current office space and equipment at the disposal of the State Office, Ordu said the office accommodation was too small for the number of staff and not befitting of a reputable Institute like NICO.
He however promised to get the approval of the ES for provision of additional office space within the complex and the immediate facelift of the office to make the environment more conducive for work, adding that management was working hard to ensure that the development of NICO Minna permanent site commenced this year.
He equally asked the State Coordinator to make requisition for the necessary items and equipment needed in the State Office in order to enhance the achievements recorded last year.
