The Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, has charged Christians to emulate our scriptural fathers, like David, Solomon, Nehemiah and others to build the house of God, so that God will bless them in return, noting that Solomon built the house of the Lord and he was blessed richly.

Ayakoroma made this remark as chairman of the occasion at the launching of a five hundred million naira Church Cathedral, organized by Prophetic Light Ministry (a.k.a. Light House), which took place at the Dr. Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, on Saturday, 4th October, 2014.

The NICO boss told guests at the event that the secret of receiving was in giving heartily, adding that the great men recorded in scriptures rose to fame and greatness as a result of their heart of giving to God, noting that building God’s house was a gateway to building one’s house and enjoined guests to support the church financially to start the building the Cathedral.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Prophetic Light Ministry Management Committee, Mr. Ondo Gbekumo had explained that what informed the launch for the Church Cathedral was the urgent need to accommodate the ever increasing multitude of worshipers, saying the present worship centre at Ox-Bow Lake Road, Swali-Yenagoa, can no longer accommodate the over 3,000 worshipers, a congregation which keeps increasing by the day.

He noted that the about nine months old church has witnessed expansion in population so much so that a 15,000-seater Cathedral was needed urgently to accommodate more worshipers, emphasizing that the Prophetic Light Ministry was instituted by God and as such, He has made the church His ever-abiding place.

Gbekumo added that the General Overseer, Prophet Diepreye Samuel Okiakpe is an expression of the marvellous works of God and the church is a place where worshipers have witnessed and seen the sick healed, the lane walk, the blind regaining their sights, and many others delivered from sundry afflictions.

With the ES as the chairman of the occasion piloting the event, as well as the his words of encouragements, the launching was a success as about fifty million naira was realized in this first phase for the immediate take off of the Light House Church Cathedral.

Present at the launching were top government officials, prominent businessmen and women including Chief Marcus Seigha (chief launcher), Dr. Omubo Dede a former Commissioner in Bayelsa State, Hon. Barango Matthew Wenke Jr. (President/CEO, Epic Refinery & Petrochemical Industries Ltd), Chief Austin Agor Martins, Chief G.A. Kpokpowei (owner of Kobison Filling Stations), His Royal Highness Sam Ikieba, Chief Benedict Gwembe (one of the founding fathers of Bayelsa State, in whose residence the church started), among others; just as guests were entertained by popular gospel artist in the state, Elder Dempster, children presentation and comedy sessions.

It will be recalled that Prophet Diepreye Samuel Okiakpe, the General Overseer of Prophetic Light Ministry (aka, Light House) had ministered at NICO Prays, the Christian Fellowship of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation at the head office in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, sometime in June 2014, and the session experienced the manifestation of the awesome anointing of God on the prophet.
