The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the 2015 edition of the Annual International Conference of the Society of Nigeria Theatre Artists (SONTA) has launched a website: www.sonta.nico.gov.ng for this year’s conference.
A statement released by Caleb Nor on behalf of the Conference Convener and Executive Secretary, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Associate Professor Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, urged interested persons to either visit www.nico.gov.ng and click on the link or go directly to www.sonta.nico.gov.ng to get detailed information about the conference idea/concept among others.
It will be recalled that NICO’s hosting of SONTA 2015 marks the first time a government agency, outside conventional institutions of higher learning, will be hosting the Society’s Annual International Conference and there are already high expectations for the Professor Barclays Ayakoroma-led cultural institute, which has the mandate of harnessing Nigeria’s diverse culture for national development.
To be part of this unique experience, intending participants have been again implored to send in their abstracts on or before 30th April, 2015, as well as visit the website to keep abreast of developments as they unfold ahead of the conference.
