The Management of Enugu State Broadcasting Service (ESBS) has sealed an agreement to partner the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Enugu State Office on the Institute’s programmes and activities.
The assurance was given by the Managing Director of the station, Mr. Chukwuma Ogbonna, when he received in audience a delegation from NICO Enugu Office, led by the State Head, Mr. Nnaemeka Nwajagu, who paid him a courtesy call.
Mr. Ogbonna, who said: “I can assure you that we are willing for the collaboration to promote our culture,” also noted that ESBS has some commonalities with NICO in certain areas regarding the mandates; and promised on behalf of the Management and Staff of the station to have a Joint Committee to draw programmes to be presented by NICO.
Earlier, the Head, NICO Enugu State Office, Mr. Nnaemeka Nwajagu briefed the ESBS Management team on NICO’s mandate, programmes and activities, and solicited for cooperation in the dissemination of these programmes for wider coverage and to reach the grassroots in the state.
Mr. Nwajagu commended ESBS, as a culture driven agency with a proven track record in culture-related programmes in the Eastern Region, pledging that the Institute will not disappoint on its part on the agreement, assuring that through the partnership, the good work of NICO will go far and reach the target audience.
He also informed the ESBS Management that the 2016/2017 academic session of NICO Training School is already in progress, and asked the MD to sponsor some of his officers for the programmes for better enhancement and productivity of the staff, and advising the MD not to miss the golden opportunity provided by NICO Training School.
On his part, the Head of Research & Documentation Unit, NICO Enugu, Mr. Okezie Austin reeled out the cardinal programmes of the Institute and promised to work with the ESBS Head of Programmes in drafting the exchange of programmes.
