The Voluntary Welfare Scheme organised by NICO North-Central Zone took a new look on Thursday, 19th January, 2017, at the Conference Hall of the NICO Zonal Office, Ilorin, when a new executive emerged, preceded by the presentation of the End of the Year Report.
The immediate past chairman of the Zone’s Welfare Scheme, Mr. Toyin Bamidele, presented the income and expenditure account for the year, which ended 31st December, 2016, which also marked the first one year of the scheme.
Mr. Christopher Bello, who represented the chairman, welcomed and applauded all the members for their cooperation and prompt payment of their monthly contributions, which led to the smooth running of the scheme.
A member, Mr. Olumide Dada, appreciated the out-going executives for a job well done so far and called for the need to set up a Welfare Constitution Review/Drafting Committee by the in-coming executive to include necessary rules and regulations that would guide the scheme.
The inauguration of the new executive members, who were elected, unopposed, and would have a two-year term, as generally agreed by members, were Mr. Kayode Yusuf (Chairman); Mr. Deji Iledare (Secretary); Ms Ajuma Edeh (Treasurer); and Mr. Ola Ajiboye (Auditor).
In his charge, the Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Ohi Ojo, enjoined the newly-elected executive members to be dedicated and committed to their responsibilities, in order to take the Zone’s Welfare Scheme to greater height.
Responding, the new chairman, Mr. Kayode Yusuf, thanked the Zonal Coordinator for creating an enabling atmosphere for the Welfare Scheme to be rejuvenated in the Zone and his fatherly role in the success of the scheme.
He also appreciated the outgoing executive and members for their prolific effort toward the scheme, and urged them for more cooperation, support and advice for the new executive to achieve monumental achievements in the years to come.
