The Class One of the 2018 Yunus Emre Institute Summer School, Ankara University, Tomer Bursa, 2018 TurkceYazOkulu, where Njideka Dimgba, a Cultural Officer from the Corporate Affairs Unit, E.S Office, Abuja, is participating with eleven other students from South America, East Africa, West Africa, Europe and Asia bids farewell to their Turkish language teacher, Murat Caner.
The farewell party which took place in class one, fourth floor of the Ankara University, Tomer Bursa, Turkey, on Friday, August 3, 2018, was organized to appreciate Mr. Caner for his immense and astute teaching skills during the three weeks Turkish language class.
In a short speech presented in Turkish language, Mr. Hesham Aljazeri, a participant from Libya, expressed deep appreciation to the Ogretmen-the teacher on behalf of the 2018 class for his tolerance, understanding and the wonderful experience they had learning Turkish language in three weeks under his tutelage.
In his words,”Bu programın üç haftasından sonra, şu an hissettiklerimi ifade edebilecek hiçbir kelime bulunmadığını düşünüyorum, ancak kendimi nasıl hissettiğimi ifade etmeye çalışacağım. Öncelikle Yunus Emre enstitüsüne, Türkiye’nin güzelliğini ve medeniyetini tanıma şansını verdiği için çok teşekkür ediyorum, çok güzel bir ülke ve Türk halkı çok etkileyicidir. Umarım tekrar Türkiye’yegelebilirim.Ankara Üniversitesi Tomer, hocası Murat Caner, Tilbe, Tuncay Halil ve Fisun’a da çok teşekkür ediyorum”. It is translated thus; “three weeks of this programme, I think there are no words that can describe the way I am feeling right now, but I will try to express myself. First, I will like to thank Yunus Emre Institute for giving us this opportunity to know the beauty and civilization of Turkey. It is a very beautiful country, and the Turkish people are awesome. I hope that I can come to Turkey again. I would also thank Ankara University Tomer; teachers Murat Caner; Tilbe; Tuncay Khalil and Fisun. I thank you very much.”
Responding in Turkish language, Caner said, ”Son üç haftadır yoğun bir programda öğrencilerim gibi nazik jestleriniz ve lütfunuz için içtenlikle minnettarım. Çok teşekkür ederim. ”. Hepinize kendi ülkelerine güvenli bir yolculuk diliyorum”. It is translated thus: ”I wish to sincerely appreciate you for your kind gesture and magnanimity as my students during this last three weeks of intensive programme. Thank you very much”. I wish you all safe journey back to your respective countries”.
In conclusion, Miss Itzel Peret from Mexico on behalf of the class, thanked both teachers of classes 1 and 2 of the 2018 Tomer University, Bursa, made up of 25 students (10 males and 15 females) for their teaching skills and the opportunity given to them by the Yunus Emre Institute to participate in the 2018 YazOkulu programme.
The Students had since proceeded to Istanbul on Sunday, August 5, 2018 to participate in activities lined up for the concluding part of their Summer school.
It would be recalled that the 2018 Turkish language class started on Monday, July 15, 2018 simultaneously in all the cities in Turkey where Miss Gbemisola Ajibade of the Research and Documentation Department, NICO Abuja and Mr. Safiyanu Adbulrahaman of the Orientation and Cultural Affairs Department, NICO Yola are also participating in Bolu and Izmir respectively in Turkey.
