NICO Enugu Sets Up A 5-Man Team For Training School Nomination Drive

The campaign for the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) Training School nomination intensifies as a 5-man team, headed by Mrs. Amaka Ebinum, sets off to sensitize people ahead the kick-off of the 2015/2016 academic session of the Training School on 8th February, 2016.

In his inaugural speech, the State Head, Mr. Nwajagu Nnaemeka, encouraged the team to get candidates for the Training School, saying they should understand that it was a privileged responsibility they had been charged with, and that he was optimistic the team will get positive results.

The first point of call was at the Office of the Curator, National Commission for Museum and Monument, Dr. (Mrs.) Caroline Ifejiagwa, who was pleased to receive the team and commending the effort of the institute.

The team also visited the Executive Secretary, Council for Arts and Culture, Enugu State, Chief Eddy Okolo, who also welcomed the team and assured them of his support regarding the nomination of candidates from the office under his purview.

The team continued with the drive as they visited the office of the Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Smart Ogbeh and the office of the Permanent Secretary, ministry of Chieftaincy Matters, Dr. (Mrs.) Chinwe Anibeze.

On her part, Dr. Chinwe Anibeze commended the Institute and went further to request for a Satellite Training School Centre to be established in Enugu State for the sake of proximity and convenience for the people in the South-East, South-South and environs.

The team, comprising Mrs. Amaka Ebinum, Mr. Moses Emuzor, Mrs. Nnenna Ewa, Miss Pamela Anyanwu and Miss Brenda Onyeulor, which visited a good number of places, got promises from such establishments to send candidates for the Training School, either through their organizations or on personal grounds.
