The Executive Secretary, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, has sent a message of congratulation to Professor Alex Asigbo, the Dean, Faculty of Arts, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria, describing the appointment as well-deserved.
Dr. Ayakoroma, who stated this in a congratulatory letter, said Professor Asigbo’s election as dean, just as his promoted to the enviable rank of a professor, is a reflection of the yearning of Nigerian youths for very credible persons to be appointed into public office, adding that Professor Asigbo has had impeccable track record in public service and the educational sector.
The letter, captioned, “Congratulations on your Election as Dean,” reads in part: “I wish to heartily congratulate you on behalf of the Management and Staff of NICO, on your well-deserved election, as the Dean, Faculty of Arts, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria. Your election, just as your promotion to the enviable rank of a professor, is a reflection of the yearning of Nigerian youths for very credible persons to be appointed into public office. Having studied you from your formative years as an undergraduate, I have implicit confidence in your ability to perform creditably, considering your impeccable track record in public service and educational sector. Thus, there is no doubt that with your assumption of office, you will bring your wealth of experience to bear in revitalizing the engine room of the Faculty of Arts in Great UNIZIK.”
It will be recalled that Professor Alex Asigbo was one of the students that passed through Dr. Ayakoroma, at the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Port Harcourt, in the early 1990s.
