The Executive Secretary, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, has congratulated Mr. Emeka Mba on his new appointment as the Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
In a congratulatory letter with the caption, “Congratulations on your Well-Deserved Appointment,” dated May 14, 2013, Ayakoroma said he had confidence that Mba will perform commendably in his new capacity.
The letter reads in part: “Given your high level of credibility and the trail you blazed as the Director-General, Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board, we have implicit confidence in your ability to perform commendably as the new superintending umpire in the electronic broadcasting spectrum in Nigeria.”
He further maintained that with Mba’s new appointment, the broadcast media in Nigeria will be repositioned to effectively carry out government policies: “There is no doubt that with your assumption of duty, you will bring your invaluable wealth of experience to bear in propagating government programmes and policies, and constructively re-engineering the broadcast media for national development.”
It will be recalled that until late last year, Mr. Emeka Mba had served as the Director-General of Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board, for seven years, and brought a lot of innovations in the running of the Board.
