The Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Ado Muhammed Yahuza on Thursday, January 20, 2022 met with staff at the Lagos office where he re-stated his commitment towards giving facilities at the Lagos Training School Centre a facelift.
In his remark at the interactive session, Yahuza disclosed the news of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE)’s approval for accreditation of the Institute’s training programmes to cheering staff.
He said he was in the Lagos office out of the recognition that the Centre is NICO’s first office in terms of ownership and that since the Institute has been able to organize seminars as prerequisite for the accreditation of its training programmes by NBTE, it was important for the accreditation team to also visit the Lagos Training Centre in order to inspect the facilities there.
Drawing the attention of staff to the imperative of being security conscious, Yahuza informed that the Management is working towards employing the services of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) personnel to secure the building while Desk Officers will be assigned and mandated to coordinate and liaise with the security operatives.
He however charged the staff to take the issue of security serious and always ensure that the office habitable, saying it is a precursor to equipping and repositioning the office before the accreditation team visits the centre for inspection.
The meeting was attended by the Director, Training School, Mrs. Brigitte Yerima; Director, Lagos Office, Mr. OhiOjo; Deputy Director, Lagos Office, Miss. Victoria Overo; Assistant Director, Training School and other staff of the Institute’s Lagos Office.
