The Executive Secretary, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Ado Muhammed Yahuza has described training for workers as an important exercise for improved service delivery.

Yahuza who made this known in a goodwill message at the opening ceremony of a 3-Day Basic Training on e-Portal and NSUK Postgraduate Examination Management Skills for Academic Staff of National Institute for Cultural Orientation, said the training will lead to quality and effective achievements in the discharge of NICO’s mandate.

Represented by the Director, Training School, Mrs. Brigitte Yerima at the event which took place on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the Institute of Strategic and Development Communication (ISDEVCOM), Nasarawa State University, keffi, Yahuza while stressing that the training will breed and build better working conditions for the trainees, said the workshop is timely and will equip employees, position them to be highly confident in the discharge of their functions and acquaint them with existing best practices in NSUK.

He further expressed deep appreciation to the Vice Chancellor of NSUK, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed and the entire Management of the University for the friendly and cordial relationship in respect of the affiliation between the two organisations.

In his words “The affiliation with NSUK really needs to be harmonized in the processes such as administration, conduct of examinations and record keeping with the standard obtainable in NSUK. This is what this workshop seeks to achieve. To this end, participants should pay rapt attention to what they will be taught, which is drawn from quality knowledge that will be impacted by the eminent resource persons in the workshop.”

On his part, the Vice Chancellor of NSUK who was represented by Professor Gideon Omachonu, the Dean, Faculty of Arts, appreciated NICO for pulling through a smooth affiliation process and assured participants of a safe and serene environment during the course of the workshop.

He therefore congratulated participants who were drawn from the two NICO Training Centres (Abuja & Lagos) as well as resource persons for being a part of a historic programme and urged the participants particularly to pay rapt attention during the training.
