The National Presbyter of Royal House of Grace International Church, Bayelsa State, Bishop Peter Leghemo, has stated that a man’s height in life is a product of his thanksgiving life-style.
Bishop Leghemo said this in his sermon at the Family Thanksgiving Service of the Executive Secretary of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Professor Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, which took place on Sunday, 21st December, 2014, at the Royal House of Grace International Church, Greenland Parish, Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.
Ministering on the topic, “The Test of Gratitude,” the priest explained that the examination of gratitude is a daily test facing mankind; but that, regrettably, many fail this test on a daily basis, emphasizing that how far a man will go in life is determined by the attitude of his gratitude, and charged Christians to cultivate the habit of appreciation and show of gratitude to God and humanity.
Bishop Leghemo, therefore, urged Christians to live lives of gratitude – husbands and wives appreciating each other; employees and employers appreciating one another; brothers and sisters appreciating one another in truth and actions; and above all, all men showing gratitude to God continually, “for He is the one that has kept us alive even when our enemies want us dead.”
According to the servant of God, no matter the situation one finds himself, let him be thankful to God and give Him quality thanks and appreciation at all times, because it is only then shall His hands rest upon us continually.
Using Professor Ayakoroma, as an example, Bishop Leghemo charged that gratitude should be an attitude of every Christian, noting that Ayakoroma has never ceased from coming to give God thanks, at every point in time in his life, adding that such a person will always have the hand of God in every of his doings, stressing that, “if you do not know what God has done for you, you will be tempted to believe that God has not done anything to you.”
Earlier, the NICO ES said he was thanking God for His mighty hands that have been upon him and his family, enumerating that God saw him through his first tenure as ES-NICO and that he had spent one year of his second tenure; God has also seen him through in the execution of quality NICO programmes over the years; that God also saw him through in publishing his new book, Trends in Nollywood, and successfully presenting it in Abuja, Lagos and Yenagoa; that he had also been recently appointed a Visiting Associate Professor to Nasarawa State University, Keffi; and that, above all, it was the 12th Birth Day Anniversary of one of his daughters, Emmanuella.
The NICO Executive Secretary was accompanied to the thanksgiving service by friends and well-wishers, including staffers of NICO South-South Zonal Office in Yenagoa, led by the Zonal Coordinator, Mr. James Imohiosen.
