A meeting of the Association of the Heads of Federal Agencies in Adamawa State took place, Wednesday, 29th April, 2015 at the Conference Hall of Federal Secretariat, Yola, with members deliberating extensively on the security situation and the safety of federal workers in the State, with full commendations for President Goodluck Jonathan and the Armed forces for eradicating the menace of Boko Haram insurgents.
Speaking at the event, the Zonal Coordinator, NICO North-East, Yola, Mr. Ismaila Ahmad, represented by the Head of Orientation and Cultural Affairs Unit, Hamman Abdul-Rahman, ascribed the success of the Nigerian Army to the newly acquired weapons and the surprise visit to the Armed forces in the field by Mr. President, which gave rise to the current unstoppable momentum.
Mr. Hamman, however, urged the gathering to continue praying for the soldiers in Borno State as the Army had recorded another success of rescuing 200 girls and 93 women from the dreaded Sambisa Forest.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Emmanuel Angior of Federal Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, thanked the armed forces and other security agencies for their efforts, which had necessitated IDPs now freely going back to their various communities, just as federal agencies that had closed down their offices due to the security concern were now fully operational in the state.
The Chairman informed the house that the Brigade Commander, Brigadier-General Kplokplo Abu had called him, saying that he will not make it to the meeting and will not also be represented due to some pressing issues.
On his part, the State Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adamawa State, Dr. Sam Udo Onyekachi assured the Forum that Adamawa State was now safe, hence, the need for all federal agencies to carry out their programmes and activities without any fear.
Also speaking, a staff of the Federal Inspectorate Service, Federal Ministry of Education, Muhammad Sa’ad, re-echoed the appeal for more prayers for the country so as to totally eradicate the evil that had bedevilled our society.
On a refreshing note, the Management of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) offered a generator set to be used in the water treatment plant to pump water to the Federal Secretariat Complex.
The next meeting of the Forum is scheduled for Wednesday, 27Th of May, 2015.
