The Controller of Prisons, Enugu State Command, Sir (Dr.) Aloy Uchenwa (KSM), has expressed appreciation to the Management of National Institution of Cultural Orientation (NICO), under the leadership of Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, for the strategic administrative plans in executing the Institute’s mandate in the areas they are useful.
Sir Uchenwa was also full of commendation for NICO Enugu on the achievements the State Office had recorded within the short period of its existence, which has brought renewed vigour in effectively organizing the Nigerian Indigenous Language Programme (NILP).
The Enugu State Prison’s boss welcomed the request for partnership with NICO on the 2015 NILP to be organized at the Enugu State Prisons complex for outgoing inmates.
He identified wrong values in the society and improper language communication as some of the menaces that lead people to crime and urged NICO to do more in this regard in the crusade for crime reduction.
Earlier in his presentation, the Enugu NICO boss, Mr. Nnaemeka Nwajagu had sought the Command Headquarters’ consent and approval to undertake this year’s NILP (2015) for the inmates and senior Prisons staffers.
He attributed the high level of crime in the society to the neglect of our values and the copying of foreign vices by the youths, and solicited the Prisons authorities to partner NICO to achieve character reformation, especially in those who will soon be reunited to the society (outgoing inmates), promising on behalf of Management to contribute in such training and capacity programmes any time our services are needed.
