The 2015/16 students of the prestigious Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ogba-Ikeja, Lagos State on Thursday,19th November, 2015 matriculated.
The event was finalized with over 312 students at various levels of the Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND) and Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) programmes of the journalism institution taking oath of allegiance.
Among the students that lined up for the event were Nigeria’s latest musical sensation, Hip Hop star, Korede Bello of Mavin Records’ “Na God win” fame, and Nollywood special effects make-up artist filmmaker-cum-director, Perekeme Odon, aka, ‘Perewinkle (Timaya’s elder brother).
Korede Bello, who went for his Industrial Attachment (IT) after his OND programme is back to the institution for HND in Mass Communication; while Perekeme Odon, a graduate of Theatre & Media Arts from the University of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, is a Post Graduate Diploma student specializing in Broadcast Journalism.
