The Board of Trustees, Nigerian Universities Theatre Arts Festival (NUTAF), is seeking to domicile its National Secretariat with the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) Head Office, located at No. 23, Kigoma Street, Wuse Zone 7, Abuja-FCT.
This was contained in a letter addressed to the Executive Secretary of NICO, Assoc. Prof. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, signed by the Chairman, NUTAF/NUTASA Board of Trustees, Professor Emmanuel Dandaura, dated 16th January, 2017, with the caption: Invitation to Host NUTAF Secretariat at NICO Headquarters.
The letter reads in part: “The Board of Trustees of NUTAF/NUTASA hereby requests your kind acceptance to host the National Secretariat of NUTAF in your headquarters in Abuja until such a time that the Board can build its own permanent office complex”.”
According to the letter, the choice of NICO is in recognition of the fact that it is the leading training arm in the Ministry of Information and Culture, which is affiliated to a NUTAF/NUTASA member University.
The letter further states that NICO’s kind consideration and approval to host NUTAF National Secretariat, pending when it builds a permanent office complex, will not only be a major boost to the ongoing efforts to reposition the Festival but also allow for all-year-round coordination and interface with potential donors, interested private sector players, and relevant government agencies.
