In an introductory lecture, the Yunus Emre Institute in Ankara University, Bursa, Turkey, on Monday, July 16, 2018, welcomed a total of twenty-one (21) participants from Bangladesh, Kagygstan, Austria, Italy, Paraguay,Mexico, Egypt, Ghana. United Kingdom, Singapore, France,Nigeria, Cameroon, Malaysia, Peru, Rome,Pakistan, United States of America,Philippines, Burkina Faso, among others to her first edition of Youth Summer School tagged, Tukce Yaz Okulu 2018.
The introductory lecture was held simultaneously in all the Universities where the Yunus Emre Institute 2018 Youth Summer School is taking place. The participants were handed over their customised summer school bags, T-shirts, writing materials, textbooks, workbooks, mugs and towels with their names boldly crested on the bags.
During the introductory lecture, students were taken through the basics of Turkish language, like Merhaba, which means hello; Gunaydin for good morning; Nerelisiniz for how are you?; and Benim adim for introduction. They were also taken through the observation of protocol for adults and young people.
The excited students thanked the institute for the warm reception and hospitality since their arrival and for inviting them to participate in the 2018 Summer School programme.
Three members of staff of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) are currently participating in the first edition of the Yunus Emre Institute’s 2018 Summer School for Youths.
