As the 2018 Turkish Summer School, organized by Yunus Emre Institute tagged Türkçe Yaz Okulu came to an end, participants have expressed mixed feelings with tears as they recall the friendship built during the programme. These expressions were made known at the Gala Night, organized by the Institute at the Conference Centre, Pull Man Hotel Sinanpasa Mah, Istanbul, on Friday, August 10, 2018, to mark the end of the programme.
At the event, participants were issued certificate of participation just as deserving students and staff of the Institute, who distinguished themselves in the areas of photography, video, story writing and film making were also given different awards.
The three (3) members of staff from the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO); Miss Gbemisola Ajibade of the Research and Documentation Department, (Abuja); Mr. Safiyanu Abdulrahaman of the Orientation and Cultural Affairs Department (NICO North-East Zonal Office, Yola); and Miss Njideka Dimgba of the Corporate Affairs Department, Executive Secretary’s Office, NICO, Abuja who participated in the programme are already back to Abuja and resumed duty.
The Turkish cultural diplomacy programme which lasted for twenty seven (27) days was made up of intensive Turkish language training; skills acquisition and visits to different Turkish tourist sites.
