The Executive Secretary, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, will, on Saturday, October 6, 2012, be guest in the Living Room of Bush House Nigeria, a live phone-in programme on the network service of Radio Nigeria.
Dr. Ayakoroma is expected to discuss, among other things, the upcoming National Workshop on “Culture in the the Transformation Agenda,” being organised by the Institute in collaboration with Leading Edge Academy, Abuja, for functionaries in the local government system.
The workshop, with the theme, “Culture and the Socio-Economic Transformation of Local Governments in Nigeria: Setting an Agenda for Development,” will open on Monday, October 8, 2012, at the Main Auditorium, Shehu Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja-FCT.
The opening ceremony, which will be under the distinguished chairmanship of Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, former Executive Governor of Yobe State,will have the Deji of Akure, Oba Adebiyi Adesida, as the Royal Father of the Day, while the Honourable Minister for Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, High Chief Edem Duke, is expected to be the Special Guest of Honour.
Professor Olu Obafemi, Director of Research, National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), is expected to chair the Technical Sessions.
