The Chairman at the opening ceremony of Information Communications Technology (ICT) Training Programme, organised by NICO North Central Zone for its staffers, Dr. Adedoyin Salami, has said that NICO had taken a positive step in preparing staffers to have a competitive edge in the Nigeria society.
Dr. Salami, who is the Director, Institute of Management Studies, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, stated that the ICT programme was designed in such a way that participating staffers of NICO would not only have their skills developed, but also make them more relevant on their jobs, as it will reduce the task of management.
The Head of the Information Centre of the Federal Ministry of Information and Communication, Ilorin, Kwara state, Mrs. Shade Omoboriowo, who was represented by the Deputy Head of Communication, Evangelist Albert Asonibare, appreciated the efforts of the leadership of NICO, for providing the invaluable opportunity for its staff.
He said the relationship between the two Federal Agencies was symbolic, as they were both out to achieve the Federal Government Transformation Agenda and pledged the support of his office to give its best in the training.
Evangelist Asonibare added that the ICT training was also a form of re-orientating the society through NICO staffers and urged the officers to take the exercise seriously.
In his welcome address, the NICO North Central Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Ibrahim Lawal, said the training had become necessary for NICO staffers because the Executive Secretary, Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, had, on assumption of office in 2009, introduced e-management system and that to factor into this, staffers had to be ICT compliant.
Guests at the ceremony included Mr. Fadeyi Jide. the lead resource person, Mr. Nicholas Agboola (Educational Consultant), Sadara Associates Consulting Ltd, Ilorin, Mr. Ayodele Olabisi Lawal of Agriculture Biz Concept, Ilorin, and the participating officers.
