The Executive Secretary of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, inspected Stands and State Pavilions at the on-going National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST 2012), taking place at the Cultural Centre, Ilorin, Kwara State of Harmony.
The NICO Boss, who made it duty to visit and patronize the stands that showcased various wares, also used the opportunity to encourage participants and giving some useful advice on how best to put the Pavilions in good shape to enable the judges assess them positively.
In his desire to improve the state of the Arts and Culture in Nigeria, Dr. Ayakoroma spent time at the Anambra Pavilion to inquire on how the cultural beads designed and displayed, were being produced by one Miss Stella Ekwelie, commending the initiative and noting that giving the enabling environment, such businesses could flourish, thus reducing Nigerians’ over-dependence on such foreign goods.
State Pavilions the ES visited for intimate discussions with the Directors include, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Benue, Cross River, Ekiti, Kano, Kebbi, Nasarawa, Ogun, and Rivers.
In his team were, Mr. Nelson Campbell (SA to ES), Mr. Alex Omijie (Dep. Director, Protocol), Mr. Ibrahim Lawal (Head, North Central Zonal Office), and other members of staff.
