Staff of the Office of the Executive Secretary, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) on Monday, July27, 2020 held a brief birthday ceremony in honour of Mrs. Brigette Yerima, the Director Overseeing the Office of the Executive Secretary.

Mrs. Yerima who walked into the office without prior knowledge of the celebration went dazed as she saw her immediate staff gathered in her office and started singing happy birthday songs to her upon arrival.

While expressing shock over the show of love by her staff, the NICO Boss said she was grateful that within a short period she has got to work with them, they could come up such an initiative to celebrate her.

In her words “I am very grateful. I give people surprises but I don’t like surprises myself. From the depth of my heart, I want to thank every one of you because this is the first time I am working with most of you except for a few who have been to Training School in Lagos”.

Speaking earlier, the Head of Protocol, Mr. Ibrahim Malgwi explained that staff of the Office of the Executive Secretary organized the surprise celebration in appreciation of her impact within the short period of time she has taken leadership of the Institute.

On the birthday cake presented to the DOOES was an inscription that reads “You have proved very well that when a person is qualified enough for a job, their gender does not interfere with their performance. It is an honour to work under your guidance. Happy Birthday to the Best Female Boss Ever”.

The Director, Orientation and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Alex Omijie and the Head, Finance & Accounts, Mr. Herbert Ogbe took their turns to celebrate Mrs. Yerima with happy birthday wishes.

According to Mr. Omijie, “She deserves this and even more. Ma, for the few weeks you have been here, the office has enjoyed so much peace and calm. I congratulate you and wish you many more years of God’s grace and supernatural ability to discharge your duty. I also wish you well in your tenure and pray that God Almighty will grant you the wisdom to pilot the affairs of the Institute”.

Mr. Ogbe prayed for more grace and favour of God, strength, wisdom and knowledge to administer the Institute, adding that she will not fail in her assignment by the grace of God.

Other Management Staff present during the celebration were the Director, Administration and Human Resources, Mr. Ibrahim Hussaini and the Coordinator, NICO Training School, Abuja Study Centre, Mrs. Jane Anigala.

Highlights of the celebration were the cutting of cake and toast, group photographs with directors as well as group photograph with staff of the Office of the Executive Secretary.
