Mr. Louis Okpako Eriomala, born on 17th April, 1960 in Sapele, Delta State, hails from Opuraja, Okpe Local Government Area, Delta State. He attended St. Andrew’s Primary School, Warri, Delta State (1967-1971); Government College, Ughelli, Delta State (1972-1977); University of Benin, Benin City (1979-1983) – B.Sc. (Business Administration); and University of Lagos, Lagos (2005-2007) – M.Sc. (Psychology).

He did his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at the Department of Business Administration, Kwara State College of Technology (1983-84), as a Lecturer, before working as a Management Consultant at Malcon Group of Companies, Lagos (1984-1994).

Mr. Eriomala joined the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) on 5th November, 1996, as Assistant Chief Cultural Officer (Corporate Affairs). In 2002, he was appointed pioneer Liaison Officer, NICO Lagos Office. He was later deployed to NICO Head Office, Abuja in 2004, as the Acting Head, Research and Documentation Department.

In April 2009, when NICO South-West Zonal Office in Akure was established, Mr. Eriomala was posted there as the pioneer Zonal Coordinator. While there, he organised the first ever training programme for Cultural Workers in Ondo State; the first Yoruba Quiz for Secondary Schools in the 18 Local Government Areas of Ondo State; and the first training workshop for Traditional Rulers in Ondo State.

In February 2012, Mr. Eriomala was transferred to NICO Head Office, Abuja-FCT, as Director, Research and Documentation. Again, in April 2013, he was transferred to Lagos Liaison Office as Director. He was nominated in 2014 to serve as a Member of the Global Public Diplomatic Network (GPDNet), an international body of Public/Cultural Diplomacy practicing institutions from Medium Power Countries to promote peace and understanding among member nations, using Public Diplomacy (PD) as a platform. GPDNet is presently headed by Yunus Emre Institute of Turkey.

Until his appointment as the Acting Executive Secretary/CEO of NICO by the Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Mr. Eriomala was the Director, NICO Lagos Liaison Office, National Theatre Annex, Iganmu-Lagos.

Mr. Louis Eriomala is a devout Christian; and he is married with children.
