The Examinations Committee of NICO Training School, led by the Executive Secretary, Dr. Barclays Ayakoroma, has approved results of the graduating students of the 2009/2010 session and first semester of the 2010/2011 academic session.

The approval of results of the Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma programmes in Cultural Administration was given at the end of the meeting held on Wednesday, October 5th, 2011, at the Boardroom of the Institute’s Training School complex in Iganmu, Lagos.

The Examinations Committee had on its agenda, the performance of students during the period under review, field trips by students, and late submission of academic projects, at the end of which the ES declared that “the results are approved as noted and could be published”.

In all, there are nine Diploma students and 13 Postgraduate students who were yet to submit their project works, and they were given three months to turn in their project works or fail to graduate with their counterparts.

Also, the ES said that Field Trip as a requirement was not to be handled as Industrial Attachments, and that students are to be exposed to the Nigerian cultural environment, monuments, events, etc. and to write reports of their experiences that will contribute to cultural learning.

According to him, what the Training School needs to do is to provide guidelines for the field trips to identified areas of cultural interest.

The Examination Committee meeting was attended by ES, Dr. Barclays Ayakoroma, Director, Training School, Mr. Itapah Azuobu, Deputy Director/Head of Academic Unit, Dr. Dipo Kalejaiye, Special Assistant to ES, Mr. Ebi Campbell, Assistant Director/Head of Registry, Mr. Lawal Ibrahim, and other members of the Academic Unit of the Training School.
