As preparations for the 2nd National Conference with the theme, “Culture, Peace and National Security: The Role of Traditional Rulers in Nigeria’s Democracy,” hit top gear, the Governing Board of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) will, Tuesday, 20th May, 2014, meet at the Institute’s Headquarters at No. 23, Kigoma Street, Wuse Zone 7, Abuja, the Federal capital Territory.

The meeting, which, among other things, take a final look at the level of management’s preparedness for the conference, will also consider the fact that the maiden edition in 2012 set a benchmark for the series.

The Board is also expected to consider pending promotions for top senior and management staff for 2013, which had been passed over to the Establishment Committee, for final approval.

The NICO Governing Board, which has Alhaji Ibrahim Isma’il, as chairman, has representatives from Nigerian Institute for International Affairs (NIIA), National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), National Universities Commission (NUC), National Council for Arts & Culture (NCAC), Centre for Management Development (CMD), Nigerian National Commission for UNESCO (NATCOM-UNESCO), the Federal Ministry of Culture, Tourism & National Orientation, and the Executive Secretary of NICO.
