The Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr. Barclays Ayakoroma has pledged the cooperation and support of the Institute to the Bayelsa state Council for Arts & Culture, in the areas of research and documentation of cultural materials
Dr. Ayakoroma stated this when he received management and staff of the Bayelsa Arts Council in the corporate head office of NICO in Abuja.
He said that he was ready at all times to support the Bayelsa Arts Council to ensure it achieved its objectives nationally and internationally, especially being its immediate past Executive Director.
Dr. Ayakoroma seized the opportunity to invite the Council to NICO’s 3rd Workshop on “Repositioning of Nigerian Cultural Workers for Effective Performance,” to be held in Kaduna between December 1-3, 2009.
In her response, the Acting Executive Director of the Bayelsa State Council for Arts & Culture, Mrs. Payeboye Festus-Lukoh pledged the support of her Council in assisting NICO to achieve its objectives.
She added that NICO should see her Council as an extension of NICO in Bayelsa State, and accepted the invitation by NICO to attend the forthcoming workshop in Kaduna to enhance the job performance of management and staff of the council.
Other management staff on her entourage include, Comrade Andrew Ebi Kirifagha (Head of Administration), Mrs. Blessing Ayiba-Duba (Head of Research & Documentation), Mr. Toinpere Ogilogi (Chief Accountant), as well as Mr. Diepreye Solomon (Chapter Chairman, RATTAWU), and Enock Etimighan (Head, PR Unit).
