The Management and Staff of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO) have been called upon to praise God all the time, saying God preserves permanent blessings and protection to those who do so.
Rev. James Akposeiye of the Soul and Spirit Healing Ministry, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, gave this admonition at the Special Mid-Year Thanksgiving Service of NICO Praise Fellowship in the Institute’s Headquarters, Abuja, adding that whoever is steadfast in appreciating whatever God has done in his life will continue to experience God’s goodness. In view of this, the cleric called on NICO workers to rededicate their lives to God with confidence and faith because he is a God that never fails.
Using Biblical quotations and stories to substantiate his message, Rev. Akposeiye illustrated God’s miracle and steadfastness to mankind with 2 Kings Chapter 8: 1-7. This tells the story of the Shunnamite Woman, who returned to Israel after seven years of famine, at the instance of Elisha. This woman’s son was brought life before she left with her family to live in the land of Philistines through Elisha’s instructions. As she returned to Israel after the famine, she went to the King so that her house and land would be restored.
Coincidentally, the miracle of how Elisha raised her dead son to life was narrated to the King by Gehazi, Elisha’s servant. With her presence, and confirmation of the story, the King ordered: “Give back to her everything that was hers, including the value of all the crops that her fields had produced during the seven years she had been away.”
With this, Rev. Akposeiye continued, “I urge you all to have faith in God. In fact you can see that it is good for everybody to have a prophet, who is always praying with him and for him. God uses such man of God around you to bless you. Look at the role Elisha played in the life of that woman. Look at the way the woman came at the time she was being discussed. God favoured her.’’
The man of God added, “Likewise all of you here in NICO, God is there for you to favour you. All God wants is for you to believe in Him and accept Jesus. Good things will be said about you even when you are not there. Nobody comes to the presence of God and go empty handed. You will all receive blessings so that you will give your testimony.’’
In expressing his appreciation, the Executive Secretary called on the Fellowship to pray for the man of God, citing Isaiah 62: 1-2, as what was revealed to him that will be fulfilled in the life of the man of God and all members of the congregation. “As the man of God was preaching, that portion of the Bible was revealed to me and I quickly opened it and noticed that it reads: ‘I will speak out to encourage Jerusalem (NICO). I will not be silent until she is saved, and her victory shines like a torch in the night. Jerusalem (NICO), the nations will see you victorious! All their Kings will see your glory. You will be called by a new name, a name given by the Lord himself, ’’ the ES said.
