Governors have been responding to the goodwill messages they received from the Executive Secretary of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma on their victory at the last April, 2011 gubernatorial elections.

In a letter dated 1st June, 2011, from the office of the Executive Governor, Abakaliki, the governor of Ebonyi State Chief Martin N. Elechi (MFR) has appreciated the Executive Secretary of NICO for his congratulatory message and prayer of goodwill.

He observed that “as we apply ourselves to the challenges of improved service delivery to our people, I feel encouraged by the knowledge that I can count on the support and goodwill of people like you. I thank you for this consideration”. He further stated that “with the invaluable support and the grace of God, I am confident that we shall not disappoint the development expectations of our people”.


From Office of the Executive Governor, Government House, Umuahia, Abia State, the Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor, Mazi Donatus O. Okorie on June 16, 2011 wrote in part: “I write to acknowledge with thanks, your letter of congratulation to His Excellency…, your well articulated words of encouragement and advice are well noted”.

The Executive Governor of Borno State, Hon. Kashim Shettima, on June 22, 2011 in his appreciation to Dr. Ayakoroma said, “I highly cherish and treasure your kind, inspiring and motivating words, especially your willingness to partner with us in our developmental agenda”.


Hon. Shettima further said he was greatly pleased and overwhelmed to receive Dr. Ayakoroma’s letter and assured that, “I shall try and live up to expectations by providing the much desired good governance and dividends of democracy to the very good people of Borno State”.

The Chief of Staff to the Delta State Governor Dr. Festus Okubor on behalf of His Excellency Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan on June 12, 2011 acknowledged the receipt of Dr. Ayakoroma’s goodwill message, stating that “His Excellency is immensely appreciative of your congratulatory message, sincere sentiments, solidarity and words of encouragement”. He assured of Dr. Uduaghan’s positive transformation of Delta State, during his second tenure. 

In a message of gratitude to Dr. Ayakoroma, the Governor of Ogun State Senator Ibikunle Amosun (FCA) on June 27, 2011 said, “your expression of goodwill and sentiments are indeed very encouraging and certainly challenges us to ensure that the hopes and expectations that the good people of Ogun voted for are realized under our watch”. Hoping to always count on Ayakoroma’s support, Governor Amosun added “we will continue to require your prayers, support and wise counsel in the months and years ahead”.
