The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati has thanked the Executive Secretary of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma for his kind words of support and encouragement.
In a letter dated July 8, 2011, from the State House, Abuja, Nigeria, Dr. Abati acknowledged with gratitude, a letter of congratulation, Dr. Ayakoroma had earlier sent to him on his appointment as a Special Adviser to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Media and Publicity.
Dr. Abati assured the NICO helmsman of his resolve to discharge his assignment to the best of his ability, adding that, “Nigeria needs each and every one of us to contribute our quota as devoted citizens of a nation that has given us all so much”.
His letter reads in part “I hereby acknowledge with profound gratitude, your letter congratulating me on my appointment as Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, thank you for your kind words of support and encouragement”.
Dr. Abati who informed that “service to one’s nation is the highest form of honour and recognition” solicited the support and cooperation of well meaning Nigerians like Dr. Ayakoroma to succeed. “I will be counting on your support and cooperation to succeed in this assignment”, he added.
The Executive Secretary had on July 4, 2011, on behalf of Management and staff congratulated Dr. Abati on his appointment which he described as well deserved. Dr. Ayakoroma further stated, “given your sound academic, intellectual, articulate and eloquent disposition, and considering the trail you have blazed in the media, we have implicit confidence in your ability to perform creditably as the new Spokesman of the Federal Government of Nigeria”.
