The 36th meeting of Chief Executives of Culture of the Federation (CEC) opens on Wednesday, 14th of September, 2011,in Calabar,Cross River State.

The Executive Director, National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Mr. .M.Maidugu, stated this  in an invitation to the Executive Secretary of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO),Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma.

The bi–annual meeting, which is expected to end on Friday,16th September 2011, according to Maidugu, will enable the Chief Executives to review programmes and activities aimed at articulating and fine tuning strategies for a proactive culture sector, adding that “most importantly, the meeting will discuss and ratify the syllabus, inspect venues and facilities earmarked for the hosting of the 2011 edition of the National  Festival of Arts and Culture(NAFEST), the Festival that unites the nation”.

While wishing delegates journey mercies, the NCAC Boss reminded them to attend the meeting with relevant memos and briefs that would be taken on the floor of the meeting, as that would be in line with “our collectively stipulated best practices and earlier decision” he added.

The NICO delegation, led by the ES, is already in Calabar for the meeting.
