The Executive Secretary, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, has pledged support for the 2012 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration (AFRC).

Dr. Ayakoroma made this pledge, when a combined team of Tradewyse Concepts Ltd and the Nigerian Legion from the Ministry of Defence, paid him a visit at the NICO head office in Abuja, as part of the ‘One Nigerian, One Emblem Project 2012’ that was officially launched by President Goodluck Jonathan on December 15, 2011.

Tradewyse Concepts Ltd, consulting partners to the AFRC, had informed the Executive Secretary that they were working in collaboration with the Nigerian Legion for the production, distribution and marketing of emblems for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration and the proceeds from the project, will be given to the families of the falling heroes.

Responding, the ES pledged his support for the project but advised that, the organizers should inform organizations ahead of time, saying: “I pledge my support for the programme but if you want an appreciable impact from any organization, it is proper for you to let the organizations know well in advance.”

The Executive Secretary thereafter supported the project with what he described as his organization’s ‘widow’s mite.’
