The Executive Secretary of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, says the Institute is ready to partner the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), and that a synergy between both organisations will be mutually beneficial, especially considering the fact that APCON has a lot to offer regarding NICO News, the in-house newsletter of the Institute, which has become a pacesetter in the culture and tourism sector.

The ES said this when the Deputy Director/Head of Human Resources of APCON, Mrs. Bimbola Ipaye, paid a courtesy call on him at the Lagos Office of the Institute on Thursday, the 1st of March, 2012.

He informed that NICO is planning a national workshop on Culture, Peace and National Security, for traditional rulers and local government chairmen, to address the cultural, economic and social situation of the country, saying that the partnership of APCON on that programme would be invaluable.

Responding, Mrs. Ipaye stated that the APCON Registrar/CEO, Alhaji Garba Bello Kankarofi, who was away to Abuja on official assignment, sent his warmest regards, and that the Council will be delighted to associate with NICO as a result of the laudable programmes the Institute had been carrying out.

Mrs. Ipaye said APCON is also ready to assist the Institute for advert placements to enhance the circulation of NICO News, which has become a household publication.

In her vote of thanks, the Deputy Director/Head, Lagos Office, Mrs. Bridgette Yerima, appreciated APCON for being good neighbours and always participating in our various programmes of NICO, saying that the new partnership will go a long way in the actualisation of the cultural orientation mandate of the Institute.

Also in attendance were the Prince Dele Olusa (Director, Training School, NICO), Mr. Ebi Campbell (SA to the ES, NICO), Mrs. Ijedi Iyoha (Head, RMED, APCON), Mrs. U. Inyang Opara (PLO, APCON), Mr. Joe Onuorah (Head, PR & CMD, APCON), and Mr. Abiodun Aghedo (Head, Admin/Personnel, APCON).
