The Chairman, House Committee on culture and Tourism, Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief (Dcn.) Bamidele David Oleyelogun, has pledged his unreserved support for NICO and its activities, saying that it explains why he has had to leave his constituency to receive the Zonal Head when the legislative arm of the state was on recess.
Hon. Oleyelogun, who is also in charge of the House Committees on MDGs, AIDs and Multilateral Relations, informed that he is passionate about issues relating to culture, citing the instance of a man he met at a museum in France, who is one hundred and ten (110) years old, saying the man attributed the secret of his long life to his culture.
He further stated that as a cultural advocate, he keeps in touch with his cultural heritage and advised Nigerians to patronize our local herbal products when the need arises, as they are very medicinal.
In his speech, the Zonal Coordinator, Mr. Ohi Ojo, thanked Hon. Oleyelogun for the warm reception and participating in all activities organized by NICO SWZ under the leadership of his predecessor, Mr. Louis Eriomala, adding that as Chairman, House Committee on Culture, Hon. Oleyelogun has huge responsibilities, as culture is the totality of the way of life of a people, and that China and other Asian countries are succeeding because they sustained and harnessed their cultures for development.
He then appealed to the chairman to do all within his power to preserve, promote and present our culture to the public and that NICO SWZ will make available all relevant documents that he would need to function well in the as Chairman of the House Committee on Culture and Tourism.
