The Chief Servant of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, on Thursday, May 3, 2012, reassured the Management of National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), that he is committed to ensuring the success of the NICO Two-Day National Conference.
Dr. Babangida Aliyu, who is expected to present a Keynote Address at the opening ceremony of the conference with the theme: “Culture, Peace and National Security: The Role of Traditional Rulers and Local Government Chairman,” gave the assurance at the Justice Ibrahim Kutugi International Conference Centre, Minna, when the Executive Secretary, Dr. Barclays Foubiri Ayakoroma, paid the Chief Servant a courtesy call to intimate him on the level of preparedness by the Institute to host the Conference.
He informed the Talban Minna that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, will be the Special Guest of Honour while former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, is to Chair the occasion.
The ES further disclosed that the Royal Father of the Day, the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, has also confirmed his attendance just as many prospective participants, Traditional Rulers and Local Government Chairmen, have responded positively.
The NICO Boss also got the assurance of the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, and three other Traditional Rulers in Niger State, who have received the approval of the Chief Servant to attend the programme, which is scheduled to hold on May 7th-8th, 2012, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.
Dr. Ayakoroma later presented copies of the Institute’s In-House Newsletter “NICO News”, other NICO publications as well as copies of his personal creative works to the Chief Servant, who expressed deep appreciation, for the Executive Secretary’s kind gesture.
Members of Management team, who accompanied the ES were the Director, Administration and Human Resources, Barr. Abayomi Oyelola, mni, Director of Orientation and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Festus Ihenetu, Assistant Director (Protocol), Mr. Alex Omijie.
Other senior staff on his entourage were Mrs. Jane Anigala, Hajiya Fatima Mustafa, and Alhaji Ndaman, among others.
